![]() I am hoping that, by sourcing all the parts from the same car it will minimise any problems I may have with all the parts being compatible with each other. ![]() I cant seem to find a straight answer in the places I have searched. If anyone has any insight on this please chime in. What I still don't know is if I will also have to change the wiring loom that connects to the USB and Aux connector to the main unit. If I am not mistaken I am going to have to get the following part #'s: ![]() I am also going to need to change the MDI interface in the console cubby to the USB unit that can support CARPLAY/Android auto. Here a the Part numbers for the parts that are on the way: What I am hoping is that removing component protection and doing some coding will be all I need to get this up and running. I have also found a dealer that is willing to remove any component protection for me. I found a 6.5" screen with an MIB 2 unit (brain) and AMP all from the same car, a scrapped 2016 Golf, I am waiting for it to come in the mail. I have just pulled the trigger on what I feel is a pretty good deal. The vehicle in question is a 2015 NA GTI with NAV. I know there are already a few threads on retrofitting the MIB 2 system to a pre 2016 Golf but i wanted to start another thread to document my experience with putting a non hacked or pre-coded unit into the car.
